Whether you may also open or close trades inside the release window - and what it costs you once funded - differs per firm: the News rule column states the phase, the window and the consequence. News spikes create slippage and gap risk that can blow drawdown limits in seconds, and some firms want to avoid traders gaming predictable releases. Firms that allow it give event-driven traders far more flexibility.

Can I hold trades through NFP or FOMC?

On the firms above, generally yes on the evaluation phase — but funded-account rules can differ (some cap the share of profit earned during news windows). Always confirm the funded-phase news rule on the firm page before trading a release.
