The true cost of a funded account is not the price on the checkout page. It is the fee, plus anything due when you pass, plus every reset you buy before an attempt succeeds. This calculator puts those together with your own pass probability and sets them against what a funded account could pay you, so you can see break-even honestly.

A worked example

Take FundingPips's cheapest 100K plan in the table, 2-step Pro, at $337.60 after the FHFUNDED code. Now assume, purely for illustration, a 10% chance of passing each attempt, up to 3 attempts at the same price, an 80% split, a 1% average monthly return once funded and 3 months of payouts. Those are assumptions, not predictions, and not FundingPips's figures.

• Chance of getting funded within 3 attempts: 1 − 0.9³ = 27.1%
• Attempts bought on average: 2.71, so expected spend is $914.90
• Expected cost per funded account: $914.90 ÷ 0.271 = $3,376
• Payout if funded: $100,000 × 1% × 80% × 3 = $2,400
• Expected result: 27.1% × $2,400 − $914.90 = −$264.50
• Break-even monthly return under the same assumptions: 1.41%

Change any one assumption and the answer moves a lot. At a 5% pass chance the same plan needs a 2.81% monthly return to break even instead of 1.41%. And even at 10%, 72.9% of the time in this example the money is spent and no account is ever funded. That is the honest shape of a challenge: a small, uncertain chance of a larger payout.

50K and 100K challenge prices compared

For each firm, the cheapest plan it lists at each size, with any amount due on passing added to the total. Firms we have an affiliate agreement with come first, then the rest by total cost. Use a row to fill the calculator.

How to read this: "Upfront" is the firm's list price for one attempt, and "Total" adds anything due on passing. "With CODE" is that total after the headline code, shown only when the code's own wording clearly covers that plan or our data records the plan's price with that code; the code comes off the upfront fee only, and only once. Where a firm is running a sale, the row shows the sale price with the list price beside it and does not take the code off on top, because the two may not stack. Otherwise the code is shown on its own and the list price stands. "/mo" marks a monthly subscription, which repeats every month until you pass. Amounts in € or £ are priced in euros or pounds by the firm; the calculator does not convert currencies. The firm's checkout is the final word on every price.

What goes into the true cost

• The upfront fee. The price of the first attempt, after any code that applies.
• Money due on passing. Pay-after-pass plans charge a small amount now and the balance when you pass; many futures firms add an activation fee when you are funded. Either way it is paid once, on the attempt that passes.
• Resets and new attempts. With a pass chance p and unlimited retries at the same price, you buy 1 ÷ p attempts on average: 10 at a 10% chance, 4 at 25%.
• Subscriptions. A monthly evaluation charges again every month you have not passed, so the time you take is part of the cost.
• Refunds. Some firms return the fee with the first payout. That only helps if you get funded and get paid.

The lever that matters most is not the fee. Doubling your pass chance roughly halves the fee part of the cost per funded account (exactly, with unlimited retries at the same price), while a typical discount code trims it by a fixed share.
